do you ever feel like you're in a tunnel
and people can hear your voice but
never see your face
and it's like they've formed
this idea
of you
of themselves
but it's never true
and do they ever ask
who they are
or what they could be
what they're hiding from
if anything at all
is it some Thing
some ideal
society
or some feeling
they shouldn't repeat
shouldn't have
and what's stopping them
from being the person in the tunnel
what's so wrong with that
do they even know
can they even hear
the echo
of their own voice
in their head?
